Regarding the necessity of coordination in final approval of OIC Halal standard in the next COMCEC Meeting (the 26th Session on Nov & Oct 2010), a meeting was held by the presence of Dr. Zahedi, I. R. of Iran Ambassador in Malaysia and ICRIC's delegates with Mr. Mukhriz Mahathir, Malaysian Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (the Son of Mahathir Muhammad, Malaysian Former Prime Minister) , in Malaysia Parliament.
In this meeting Dr. Shojaee, Senior Advisor of ICRIC, presented a report of the process of compiling OIC Halal Food Standard in the 25th COMCEC Session on October 2009 in Turkey. He added that the necessity of quick confirming of this issue is possible for creating unity and integrity of Islamic World in the field of Halal and prevention of hazards of incomplete standards of Europe in the standard center of European Union. Also he declared the necessity of getting result of 2 years efforts of all OIC member countries such as, Malaysia, Turkey and Iran in compiling the standard text in the coming COMCEC session.
Mr. Mukhriz Mahathir after surveying the issues accepted to hold a meeting with the authorities of Standard, Jakim and ICRIC's delegates to coordinate among Malaysia, Turkey, Iran and other countries for approving this standard in the next COMCE Meeting and the united standard will be approved by the unity of all Islamic countries.
